Agreed. Thanks for this info.I was in the US in December. Went to the microcenter over at Brooklyn, I was enquiring about the Asus TUF RTX 3070TI there, they weren't too keen on selling me the set since they needed a registered address during the purchase.
Hopefuy you might have a different experience, prices do differ from SG's price down by about 80 USD, but the absence of warranty is probably not worth the risk

Why do they need an address if it was a walk in purchase ?I was in the US in December. Went to the microcenter over at Brooklyn, I was enquiring about the Asus TUF RTX 3070TI there, they weren't too keen on selling me the set since they needed a registered address during the purchase.

Probably they don't wanna sell to China minerWhy do they need an address if it was an walk in purchase ?
to limit the number of people scalping. if u were just a regular casual pc builder, chances are that u dont even need more than 1 or 2 gpus a year. the primary reason nowadays someone would buy more than that is to scalp them, and some franchises at least have some mitigation measures like this one in place. Why do they need an address if it was an walk in purchase ?
