GFX Recommendation

Hi all, am looking to get a new graphics card as my Palit GTX 260 is starting to fail on me after all the years. Will not be gaming much (might try some GTA V but not a priority) and might run an additional monitor in the near future.

Was looking at the Zotac GTX 1050 2GB from VideoPro on Qoo10, $160 after $20 coupon. Are the TI 4GB single fan or TI 4GB dual fan worth the $50 & $65 extra? Thanks and cheers

Dual Fan for better cooling. Single Fan more for Mini ITX shoebox build where space is a concern.

I would suggest to get GTX1060 3GB for GTA 5. GTX1050Ti 4GB is more or less the same power as GTX770 (4GB).

I would suggest to skip the GTX1050 and choose either 1050Ti or 1060 3GB.

this will depends on what kind of casing u using. if your case cooling solutions isnt that good can go for dual fans, if good, can consider single, though some user did comment that single fans can be quite hot.

single fan is using a single piece of heatsink, whereas dual fans have some heatpipes to transfer the heat to the hit fins. next if ur monitor is running more than 1080p can consider 4GB, although 2GB is fine, just that u might need to tweak some settings.

The Gtx 1050 2gb is a very small and very cool card that does not generate alot of heat and does not consume alot of power. Very good for low wattage PSU or small mini case. Some of the card can be power up by the motherboard PCI E slot and don't need gpu 6 pin connector to power.


If you are on a tight budget and only plan to game at 1080p and only considering playing GTAV this card is sufficient enough for your needs. Can turn off the Anti aliasing settings for some higher FPS. If you willing to fork out that extra bucks and money is not an issue, would suggest you go straight for the GTX 1060 3gb wait for the 50 off 300 code from qoo10 and get it around $250+. Just skip the 1050 TI. As going from the gtx 1050 to the gtx 1060 3gb can be quite a big FPS performance boost.
