No idea how buying tickets can waste 1 day leave.

Just say you stomache and in toilet if someone asking you why you are missing for half hour.

there are also website that will assist you in buying, just need to pay them expensive service fee.

tickets can be bought online, just need to fast hand fast leg

If you look at the calendar, 10 aug is a saturday. Do you still think it's worth deducting one day leave? Not every company deduct half day leave on weekends.
I can say I got stomachache, but I can't anyhow close my counter without permission. If not ops centre will start to ask. (Don't ask me what's my job is).
Yes, I agree can buy from 3rd party but I find it too expensive. A little service fee is ok but not when they over charge everything.

Try AirFrov. I got my Ghibli tickets from there 3 years ago. You set your own offer price and see if any travellers to Japan will pick up your request and buy for you.

I just followed the template of the many Ghibli ticket requests that was posted there. I set my offer price about $1 higher per ticket as compared to most of the requests and there are people who responded to my request almost instantly. I found the price that I paid (on top of the basic Ghibli ticket SGD equivalent amount) to be fairly reasonable, and definitely waaaaay cheaper than those overseas third party sites like voyagin. Of course it will still be a couple more dollars more expensive than you getting it yourself via Lawson online system (the online ticket system didn't exist back then).

Though please note it's not guaranteed that the traveller can get you the tickets even though he/she has taken up your request. If the tickets are already sold out on the days you want, they can't do anything either. In that case the deal will fall through and AirFrov will return you the money that they withheld.
