Gigabyte 1070 no DP output

Hi all,

I've just upgraded from a 1060 to a 1070. Drivers were updated, cable connections all checked, and one major problem remains - a second monitor connected via DP has no input.

My setup is a bit unique due to physical constraints, productivity and gaming requirements.
Display 1 - AOC 30" via DVI
Display 2 - Dell 24" portrait via the following: DVI input -> DVI-DP adapter -> DP-DP coupler
Display 3 - Dell 27" via HDMI with one coupler along the way

Right now, 1 and 3 work fine. I have no other DP cables or DP monitors to test but it's safe to assume they're fine since they were working right up until I swapped out the 1060 for the 1070.

Is there anything significantly different about the 1070's outputs? Why is it not detecting my DVI/DP display via all of its DP's?

this one is bidirectional/active adapter? passive adapter won't work

It's basically a rectangle thing with DP facing out, no power supply or blinky lights so I assume this means it's passive?

How did it work on the 1060 (and previously 770, R9 280) without issue then?

can the DVI monitor work on the second DVI port? (plug monitor 1 to port 2)

EDIT: wait, your model is the gigabyte 1070 mini right? two DVI connectors
also why the DP monitor you don't want to plug into the DP on the gpu?

Remove either 1 or 3 from the equation, see if 2 is then able to display image.

Which version of Gigabyte GTX 1070 by the way ?

Since I already had a few HDMI cables lying around a coupler was a good way to put them to use instead of buying a new long DP cable (for the Dell 27 which is furthest away). The Dell 24 is pretty old so it only has DVI and VGA out and the 1060/1070 only has one DVI port which is used by the 30" with a single long cable that's of just-nice length.

It's the Windforce 2X OC. I put my 1060 back in and the screen is still dead so I suspect that cable may have been damaged when I was trying to unplug it the first time by pulling too hard as it has this very stiff latch. Will report back once a replacement cable arrives.
