That is one of the problem indeed. The other main problem I feel is that quite a lot of people buying PSU tends to not consider the quality of the PSU, instead they use price and wattage as the determining factor for purchase. In addition, the "Gold" efficiency rating makes the PSU sounds really good, so people will assume it is safe to buy.becoz many ppl buy psu see brands, not its models and its accompanying reviews

Unfortunately, this is the case. I've run into a number of people buying used computer parts from me choosing to cheap out on PSU because they don't see the importance of it. After all, it does not appear to directly affect the speed of the system. They only realize it when I advised them to invest more on a PSU and why so.PSU is important, but when just zooming into price, hope no boomz
I feel it is best to do our homework to find out more before committing on a PSU. I generally go with Seasonic or Corsair, but I won't want to assume their PSU will be flawless all the time. My understanding is that the OEM may be good, but the brands may choose to use cheaper capacitors or parts to cut cost, which may negatively impact the PSU's performance. There are other factors like fan noise which I want to know as well. An example is the recent Corsair's updated PSU using the ML fans. My experience with their ML fan is very negative because it sounds like a leaf blower at full speed. And surely, it affects the PSU noise level as shown in the review below. 35 dBA is certainly not very loud, but compared to the 2018 model, that number jumped almost 2x, and that is the average noise level. My old RM 750 was whisper quiet even under heavy load.My only advise is always try to find out the OEM of the "branded" ones. Like Corsair uses CWT and Seasonic and Asus uses Seasonic mainly. Gigabyte came into the market just recently with their PSU's and it is not popular so I did not think people would bother checking the OEM of those units. Not all "branded" ones are bad so long as the OEM is reputable. My luck has mainly been Corsair and Asus this far so I will stick to them.
Components today like the RTX 3000 sucks alot of wattage so this is one of the last things you should ever try to skimp on. Just like how you do not skimp on tires with your car. It is the only connection between you and the road.
I am actually ok with their motherboard. In fact, I used to always buy their boards because of the dual BIOS feature.They can't even make their motherboard right
a lot of psu are not reviewed and the tier list only accept technical review, not general reviewwas wondering where my PSUs are. turns out I have 1 tier B low priority in the v 4.0 list, 1 tier A+ in the v 3.0 list
One of my PSUs may be too old so I couldn't even find it in the list![]()

Or, from a different pov, no need to spend money on lawyersCorsair hired JonnyGuru for their PSU R&D side, this brings way more credibility to Corsair imo.
