I think due to noise level. I suspect those sign petition all live in high floors. Imo, they need to be considerate to their neighbours. If 8am start play.. what if your neighbours not a morning people lol

In Singapore, noise generated will usually bounce off densely packed buildings, that's why sometimes its nosier the higher it goes because can hear sound waves from everywhere.

Maybe the soccer fields we can convert to pickleball, since the soccer players unlikely going to make it to world cup anyway.

reason pickle ball is popular is cos, badminton cannot play in those courts that are really a waste of money to build due to external wind...
so pickle ball start to pick up cos can use external courts, and low or free
if build indoors, P&L comes in maybe slowly will die liao

**** all the pickleball players playing at those open air hdb court, early morning keep hear the 'pok pok pok' sound, and my block is 3 freaking blocks away from the court

No money, dont play. Want to play, go pay for indoor courts at activesg facilities. Otherwise, just go play badminton or tennis since they are similar. I really dont understand why ppl even like pickleball, its just noise pollution and anyone who plays at the open air courts are a nuisance.

A good idea is to convert those useless outdoor badminton courts to basketball courts then nobody can play pickleball.

At least like that can make use of the space.
