Hi, just some info about me before i proceed with my situation now.

Im currently unsure of where do i want go for my solo trip. and how to plan for my itinerary.

I was actually thinking of going to either bali/thailand to relax. however seeing recent news about thailand i a bit scare already la..

hahaha..

lets say if were to travel to this 2 country, which one will be much more of a better choice? as in communication wise and being safer? cos I'm going alone.. and there's communication barrier..

Bali for me because I've went to Thailand too many times recently. I want to experience the Eat Pray Love in Bali again.

Thailand. Just don't go the dangerous places. I haven't been to other parts of Thailand, but in Bangkok, there are quite a number of Chinese and Thais who could speak Chinese (I assumed that you are Chinese). Language will not be really an issue there.

There are also some Thais who could recognize a Singaporean/Malaysian instantly because we speak Singlish. They will instantly guide you along (but be aware of scammers who know that Singaporeans are fun to scam).

my advice is to save the money. most people go solo because no one else is interested in a destination or schedules clash. the destination is the actual objective, not traveling solo. save the money and open up your traveling options in the future instead or invest it in language classes or clothing/equipment for future trips if you don't know where you want to go.

if you just need to go away to chill, it might make more sense to just take boat to Batam and spend 3 nights. by your 2nd night you should have settled in nicely and on your 3rd night you will be bored, so it's the perfect time to head back. they're used to Singaporeans, so communications will not be a problem and I would think safety is better than the angmoh hangouts like Bali and Thailand. Sure, it doesn't sound cool, but it might meet your need better.
