Hi guys
I will be heading to Taichung for the first time (26/2 - 01/3), and I plan to make a day trip to Sun Moon Lake. I will be alone.
I just want to have a (quick?) look around SML, and return to SML Shuishe Visitor Centre back to Taichung around early evening.
Some questions I hope you guys can chip in advice:
1. Is it possible to get bus/tour package tickets at the Nantou bus stop office near Taichung Train station? No need to buy beforehand, right? (I may change the date I go to SML.)
2. The packages on the Nantou bus website look confusing. For my purpose, will the NT400 or the NT730 package be more suitable? Both includes bus ride back to Taichung, right? (why does it say one way....)
3. I can't ride a bike. Will relying on the bus be ok?
4. Alternatively, are there group tours you'd recommend for a day trip that will bring us tourists from Taichung to SML, ferry us around within SML (with/without guided tour explanations?), and then back to Taichung in the evening? (My concern about sticking to the SML bus is the long wait if I miss one bus)
5. Are there basic eateries and washrooms at each of the scenic spots of SML? Not exorbitant i hope...
6. If I want to be back in Taichung early evening (no later than 8pm), what would be a good time to depart Taichung for Nantou? 9am? 10am?
Thanks in advance!
