I would like to get your advice on investing in gold using the following options:
  1. Investing in gold through CPF
  2. Investing in gold through a Bank Savings Account
I am aware that Gold Savings Accounts have a monthly fee of 0.25%, which seems quite high.
Other options include ETFs with lower expense ratios. However, I’m not interested in Gold Miners ETFs. I’d prefer a gold investment that can be easily encashed if necessary, rather than physical gold bars.

What suggestions do you have? I’d appreciate your input.

Thank you!

Gold ETF is a form of paper gold, that is the lowest cost for TRADING short-term.
If you don't know how to trade gold market, you shouldn't buy any. But if you still want to buy paper gold, then ETF is better than anything else including Gold Savings account because you can easily cash out just like any stock to immediately buy the dip in other stocks during market crash.
I believe the amount of admin and time delay involved with gold savings account is comparatively worse.

CPF-OA allows investing into gold and you can diversify max allowable 10% of your CPF-OA into
1. SPDR Gold ETF
2. UOB gold savings account

CPF-OA allows investing into SPDR Gold ETF. You can choose to diversify max allowable 10% of your CPF-OA into this gold ETF.

However, for liquid cash, my advice is don't use it buy any paper gold (ETF) if you have no intention to buy physical gold. You have no need for gold. Those who need physical gold, know why they need them (money laundering, illicit deals).

The only real holy reason for you to buy gold is as wedding gifts for your children. You give gold jewellery or gold bars as presents for your children who are going to get married.
Or as jewellery for your wife and/or daughter to wear to high-class parties in safe countries, but today, that is considered old-fashion/uncool.
Wah lau simi money laundering, illicit deals

I hodl physical gold because i have blind faith that it will keep pace with inflation and its a good store of value (not a good investment tho)

Same for BTC (my belief ofc) and not for simi money laundering whahahaha

Then how about the pricing that UOB quote to you? Won't they intentionally create a large bid-ask spread?
