There are gold, silver and gray thermal paste for sale in the market.
Kind of curious if the color matters? For example is gold paste better than gray? How do I know if one paste is better?

The Gold and Silver are "actual" gold and silver? If so, their thermal performance would be better.
If not you need to read up on reviews liao.

Was looking at those no-brand paste on AliExpress and eBay selling for $0.60 for maybe 1g tube?

Don't think I can get any real gold or silver at this price. :s22:

no one will use gold, gold's thermal conductivity is slightly less than silver, but much more expensive then silver. CCS will mention the famous word again if he heard about thermal paste using gold.

Color doesn't matter and it doesn't mean its gold color means there's gold in there.

To be honest, there is very little difference in temperature between all the top end thermal compounds that you can find in the market. Liquid metal is probably the best, but there's a lot of limitations such as it being electrically conductive, and cannot be used in conjunction with aluminium.

cooler of thermal paste normally isn't the factor in heat conductivity.
