Hi everyone,

I'm gonna head down to SLS tomorrow to buy the remaining parts for my new build. I want to replace my stock casing fans with another one.

What's a good case fan that is available in SLS now? Plan on getting at least 3 140mm fans

Corsair fans. For 140mm range, not much options to choose from.

Their 140mm fans are amongst the worst I've tried. Had a CM Sickleflow 140mm blue LED and 140mm green LED fan previously, both fans max rpm so slow and airflow so little that it literally makes no difference whether I switch on or off these 2 case fans...:s22:

Maybe CoolerMaster worked out for you. It didn't for me. I also had a CoolerMaster 120mm Sickleflow blue LED fan. At full voltage (12V), that fan was like a jet engine inside my casing.

So I switched loyalty to Gentle Typhoon fans.

Sigh I dont think SLS sell Gentle Typhoon right. So far all I see is Corsair AF140mm in the price lists. Any thoughts on those? :(

Anyway 1000 rpm vs 3000 rpm the temp maybe only a few ℃ diff , so I chose 1000 max . Because I hate the noisy fan sound. fan doesn't really cool ur system , so no need put big depends on it ( case and room temp does more effect)

PC Themes sells Gentle Typhoon. AP-00, but 120mm. 140mm Gentle Typhoons not available locally. Unless u willing to down from 140mm to 120mm case fan.

Bought a few yate loon d12bh-12, 2300rpm, 89cfm, sound like a jet engine, the fan itself isn't too loud about 40db more or less the same sound level to my gpu fan but the casing filter create a draft that shoot to 55-60db. so i add a few rubber washer and it back to 40db. Anyway my advise if you want a low noise get something like 1000-1300rpm, or fan control to drop the speed or mod your casing.

Switch on your room air con and open up your side casing.
Forget about the fans.

But you need to clean your PC at least once a month. Make sure all the parts not cover by dust.

Honestly, case fans are really subjective. Personally, I would rank acoustics over rpm. In fact, it is more likely that you have to try them out yourself (which unfortunately, high chance you have to purchase it first) and evaluate what is suitable.

Sleeve bearing ones can forget it.... I bet you will want to ditch them in a year or 2...

you can control fan speed with software, bios or external fan controller. Unless you really OC your system, 3 fans are more than enough for average use, front in, rear and top out.

I was thinking of Front, Top & Bottom intake and back exhaust, Cos my chassis not air tight. So more intake to exhaust might have a better effect as the case can naturally exhaust the interior air especially if using a GPU with non-reference cooling solution (pressure could push the air from GPU to rear I/O).
