Good trading platform

Hi,

Anyone has recommendation of a good and safe trading platform for US market?

Currently using IB, because am trading options and stocks.. Offers me low comm.. But i heard that we dont really own the stocks using them.. Was thinking what if they fold..

There is no way for you to directly own the US stocks, unless you are an US citizen.

IB is one of the more reputable broker in US. You just have to accept them in good fate that they would not fold.

Alternatively, you can open a few accounts with other US brokers and spread your risk.

Lastly, is to denounce your current citizenship and become a US citizen.

Ameritrade is better.

SAXO's Futures commission is a joke.

Others are charging US$2.40 per contract, SAXO charges US$10 per contract.

Why are we advising him?

Doesn't he possess the basic skillset to compare & contrast, no sin in asking though, but I do have a problem when he charges for advice & exhibits that he is actually none the wiser.

You don't have to go personal leh.
I agree with your points, IFA should know these things. But just like a doctor can't know every illness and how to solve them, an IFA can't know every single financial product and their details. In this case, he does know part of these things, just dunno the details of it.

IFA is really not suitable as a title, too broad stroke. Can't think of anything yet.

If he is so worried about IBKR folding, then he should be worried about TD folding as well, so his best bet is to spread amongst as many brokerages as possible, not just2 .

Maybe he is just trying to hint to us that his portfolio is so big, he can spread it among different brokers.

My forte is in insurance. I am quite impress by your opinion that you think all IFA know everything, your everything seems to encompass all financial products and services.

Maybe I should share that we can chose what we specialise on. And to ask in a forum, personally, is not what this forum is for? I am not sure, I ask, we can learn together.

I hope you will learn more of etiquette. Learn from the moderator, Perisher, not to go personal, think through the content "like a doctor"..

IFA is a broad title, be mature and be constructive.
