Galaxy Nexus Production Date identification

Read On XDA forum [INFO] Galaxy Nexus Production Date identification - xda-developers

Country of production does not guarantee you will get a bug-free phone. I do accept, that China or Vietnam made phones are from the latest batches, but knowing the exact date of manufacture is a better way to pick up the latest copy of GNex to protect yourself from early bugs.

So, to figure out the prod. date you will need the SN printed on the sticker on the back of the phone. Read the 4th and 5th digits from left:
The 4th one defines the Year (Z - 2010, B - 2011, C - 2012)
The 5th one defines the Month (1...9 - January...September, A - October, B - November, C - December)

So, for instance, SN RF1C20QLHPM tells you the phone is from 2012, February batch (C2).

Please, post here your prod date and country of manufacture for general statistics. Might be useful for future shoppers.

Didn't own the S2, I'm interested to hear your comparison on the general and gaming performance. From what I read the S2 flies through operations.

I don't game but generally yes s2 flies through operations because it's on a very matured version of android, ics is still very buggy as in the sense of the OS, however I'm not interested in anything slapped with the maker's skin, such as touchwiz or motorblur, I prefer pure google experience, therefore nexus apparently is the better selection. to each his own, s2 doesn't appeal to me, therefore I sold it after few weeks of usage.
