Guys can i ask you Nexus users, how is your data speeds on trains, or even all around the island when travelling?

Do you guys oftenly loose connection or can't even get a connection at all?
In other words, is your phone's 3/3.5G stable?
I noticed ping times are higher when testing with my friend's iPhone 4S and my Gnex.

pings are alright, but is the internet connection stable, are there times when you can't even search google or go on to facebook?

actually i think all these are telco's problem..

singapore 3g reception are know to be rather lousy...

those on the trains can't get good signals..

but if you are not in the train and some places where signals are no good...

try this apps https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.freshnetwork&feature=related_apps

it calibrates your phone's radios and optimize it to the mobile network broadcasting around you..

I see. I'm using a rooted s2. Been trying to figure out if the problem lies with my s2. So that when I change to my next phone I'll be more careful of such criterias.

You are aware you should root your nexus to change your baseband for data and kernel for wifi?

Hope you'll enjoy your nexus more.

Ic. Currently i am comparing with stock nexus and 1x.

Still reading up how to flash to jelly bean for my nexus 1. The wait for the ota to arrive is killing me.

It never fail to work when I am using it.

Can't say about others.

Wow that's good. Cause I'm looking to sell my s2 for a nexus. Price not much difference anyway. So thinking about the data is like what lo.

What operator you are using? I am using both starhub and singtel and the data is cmi in most places i go...
Starfug at Sembawang.

No phone should drop data btw, if your phone cannot load Google or Facebook, it's the telco's fault, not the phone's fault. Anyway, just keep your S2.

Nexus One no Jellybean OTA, even if you manage to load it up, you won't be happy. People say it's sluggish.:s12:

You need to flash Takju/Yakju, local set is Yakjuxw

doing some more homework. maybe someone can help me answer.

1) am at https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images , cannot seem to find Yakjuxw. How are we able to flash back to stock if we need to send in for warranty? (Edit: found this to return to stock. xda-developers - View Single Post - [DEPRECATED] Change to 4.0.4 yakju from yakjuxw (or ANY other version) )

2) Which 1 should I flash to? Takju/Yakju? What's the difference between the 2? (Edit: Found out that the main difference is the preinstalled google wallet. Is the google wallet feature supported in singapore?)

Please help to answer.

Thanks.

Google Wallet not supported, but can get it to work if you have root.

If you interested I can help you.

for warranty returns, just flash yakju or takju and lock bootloader, should have no issues.
