That's what I did :s13:

Coming from the HTC Desire, there's indeed a big difference, in terms of speed. If you are used to using manufacturer's skin (Sense, Touchwiz, Blur, etc), I think in the beginning you will feel lack of some features like T9 dialer (I miss it on my Desire A LOT) and some widgets like Calendar, Tasks. Of course all of these can be downloaded as a 3rd party app from the Market.

The default calendar widget on ICS is crap, I think it displays only the current week's schedule. And if you like to link your friend's facebook profile into your contact, sorry but that will not work for now (You can't add Facebook in Accounts & Sync).

I have to mention another setback though, the screen is not that perfect. When brightness is set at low and you view a white or grey color page, you will notice the screen have some weird texture on it. It's like viewing an ISO 6400 photo, very very noisy. Some people said it's "normal" on an AMOLED screen, but I think it's bullcrap, even my HTC Desire AMOLED screen produces better color without this "normal" color texture. So, you got to live with that.

But overall, the high resolution screen, the contrast colors (sometimes too much though), the speed, the plain vanilla ICS, for me I think it is worth getting.

I think it includes GST. All Mobyshop prices include GST.. says so in their FAQs section.. I dont think they have Local Warranty though.. Manufacturers warranty will always be there, except that we need to ship to the right country for warranty claims.
are they allowed to charge GST for goods not meant for Singapore?

You will realize how it is easy to let go fruit phone in the Marketplace, I posted mine and within 2 hrs sold it off without the buyer bargaining. :s13:

- the screen is to die for. much better than iPhone 4 i would say cos it achieves near equal clarity on a much larger size
- ICS is a quantum leap over gingerbread
- battery leaves a lot to be desired but thats the case with most phones these days. as long as i can somehow get thru the day, im fine (which is most days). worst case, i might buy a cheap backup battery and keep with me in case i run out of juice
- camera is sub par. zero shutter is good but the quality of pics suffer as a result. also having a 5mp when 8mp is the norm is puzzling.

Saw the launch presentation that time and yes, very impress by ICS..Battery wise, my wp7 aint doing great either but well, can always grab an additional battery..

Cam to me is okay since i dont use them much..

And right now, the wait till it's launch next month..Just in time for me a jump telco and get a new line..

I came from my beloved Nexus One, but now I have no choice but to delegate it as my backup phone lol. The GN is such a huge improvement.

As for Facebook contact sync, I bought this app called HaxSync and I really think it's worth it. Makes syncing my FB contacts to the People app nearly seamless. Not to mention high quality contact pics from FB. Though there're some caveats. Google contact sync must be permanently off or else your contact pictures will be uploaded to google server and downsized to crappy thumbnail resolution. Also you have to make sure your google contact names are identical to the ones on FB for seamless syncing. If you have friends who name themselves silly nicknames on FB, you have to manually join the contacts together inside the People app. But for now, it is the best solution to grab HQ pics for your contacts from FB.

Have to agree with the dirty paper texture on dark colours on the screen. I'm currently on custom rom ARHD with the APM and improved autobrightness patch which makes the screen brighter and somewhat alleviate the problem.

Heard abt the HaxSync too, but all these steps seems to be too tedious... hope either Facebook or Google will fix this soon.

Regarding the custom rom, is the Auto Brightness setting better than stock?

Yeah the syncing is not exactly hassle-free. But it's so much better than adding contact photos one by one from the phone gallery.

The auto brightness patch just makes it brighter at bright levels. The stock one is super dim so looks really bad.

So far ARHD 2.1.2 rom gives me the best battery life. Managed to gain 18hrs with 43% left. But that's through light to moderate usage with 2 hrs of screen on time.

Wow... that's really good battery life. I'm at 9hr and only left 45%, Auto Sync turned off, Screen On time 1hr. Really bad battery life...

sgbest offers 1 yr warranty. not sure about others.

oh ok thanks. I inquired with Mobyshop and they mentioned the unit is not covered under warranty since it is an export set. bummer

One more thing, does GN come in white? Moby said they have stock coming in this afternoon with white GN.
