Wow... that's really good battery life. I'm at 9hr and only left 45%, Auto Sync turned off, Screen On time 1hr. Really bad battery life...
Using Romanbb's AOKP, its rom control addon has option to switch to 2G when screen is off. Idle drain is quite low as a result, managed 4hrs screen on time once.

This was the first time I heard about the White Galaxy nexus.. so I did some search, this photo is just a render apparently, and some tech websites, (Droid Life?) are claiming that a white version will be released in Feb..

Anyway, still just need to wait and watch! :D

I have to mention another setback though, the screen is not that perfect. When brightness is set at low and you view a white or grey color page, you will notice the screen have some weird texture on it. It's like viewing an ISO 6400 photo, very very noisy. Some people said it's "normal" on an AMOLED screen, but I think it's bullcrap, even my HTC Desire AMOLED screen produces better color without this "normal" color texture. So, you got to live with that.

But overall, the high resolution screen, the contrast colors (sometimes too much though), the speed, the plain vanilla ICS, for me I think it is worth getting.

a lot of people complained about the screen. samsung's qc for the nexus is quite rubbish, which is why i didn't wana get an export set. thing is, not all screens are like that, there are some that are perfect even in low brightness on a white or grey background so i'm planning to test the hell out of the telco sets when they are launched..

does this 2G switching have any timer or not? cos if u every few mins keep turning the screen off and on, then the band keeps switching. so just wondering got any timer that u can set, say only after 10 mins of screen off then it'll switch to 2G?

then btw when u turn the screen on then it'll turn back to 3G immediately is it?

There's an option to set the delay to 10s, 30s etc all the way to 30 minutes, after screen off.

When you turn on the screen, it will immediately start switching to 3G, but it takes a while to reconnect.

From my personal experience, the Galaxy Nexus is quite energy efficient in idle mode, even with 3G on all the time. But I use mainly push email, so YMMV :)

Oh, I must also mention that I love the LED blink speed options in AOKP

that's good news! i think by the time local telcos launch, there would be quite a few custom roms to try. can't wait to try the franco kernel, seems very happening!

Romanbb's AOKP is great, using it right now. CM-based ones with CM9 cherrypicks also not bad.

-----------

Extended battery just arrived, comes in a GREAT box :s13:

Got it from GMarket Korea, slightly cheaper than from ebay. If you are using the above link, remember to buy also the "대용량 배터리 커버" under Additional Option (which translates to the battery cover). The original cover doesn't really fit the phone with 2000mAh battery inside.

Bro,
Great to hear. Mine is on the way. Let us know the performance once battery runs in.

So far it's pretty good, battery down to 65% with 1hr40min display on. I push all my mails to one account, so that's the only one syncing.

Shall see how it does over the next couple of days
