fixing it to WCDMA only means that your phone signal will not keep bouncing between 2G and 3G, therefore forcing it to 3G/HSPA only.

Yeah he did, and I told him that we have been discussing his and other shops for quite a while now! :D By the way mine is also the HK set, but the software build is yakjuzs or something, not the original google .. Doesnt really matter, but that is that... Actually I am not planning to root it now.. will wait for CM9.. till then stock seems to be good enough .. Although I would like to update to 4.0.2, right now its 4.0.1! see how! :D

Hi ..is it only yakju has OTA update to 4.0.3 ?

Hi guys, I set my mind to get the GN once it is launch in Spore. Actually I already 'placed an order' with the tele shop boss, told him to reserve a set for me then i will trade in my iphone.

As this will be my first time using Andriod, quite a few question floating in my mind.
1. Is it really ez to root the phone? Just follow the guide in xda forum?
2. Better to root the phone when new?
3. Can root the phone without installing a new ROM over? Or issit better to use those recommended in previous thread?
4. Shld I be like some bro here, buy the casing and screen protector first while waiting for the phone? :D

MY SGS is smoother with ICS than with Gingerbread. Running Teamhacksung's ICS Build 12.

Random lags or delays here and there probably come from the small 340-ish MB of RAM i suppose.

Get a 4.0.3 rom. I'm using AOKP now. You can also try the 4.0.3 rom from bigxie that has a good mixture of mods.

Still abit sian since I will be tmepted to jump to Cyanogen once its out means another round or re-configurating my widgets =p
