Hi guys,

might be getting a Galaxy SII or a Galaxy Nexus soon.
But i was just wondering if the Galaxy Nexus battery is really that bad as some say..
For average use with some web surfing of about 30 minutes and then some sms throughout the day followed by idle on 3G network, will it last a whole day say 18hours?

Also if you guys were given the choice, would you guys get SII or Galaxy Nexus?
I don't like Touchwiz so if i get SII, i might need to install stock ICS over it but just afraid of bugs.

Thanks!

Mine lasted for 25 hours, but I have a custom ROM. I think Galaxy Nexus and SGS2 are quite similar in terms of specs, you can check on gsmarena. Galaxy Nexus has a bigger screen and no physical buttons, while SGS2 is slightly thinner but also gets a lot warmer when in use. Galaxy Nexus gets warm too but so far it hasn't been as warm as the SGS2.

You can try Volume+, gotta pay from the Play Store but if you go to their website directly it's free: Volume+ | AndroidAudioHacks

However they recommend both a custom ROM and root, so not sure if it will work as expected on yours.

confirm will wipe rom and reinstall the 'SG' version of rom. Repair time have to check with the counter, if they got the spare parts available, maybe in a 2-3 days time.

It's a good phone... better than iphone4s in most ways.
The only one Nexus loses to iphone4s is the battery life and camera.
Nexus has double ram and better processor. It's comfortable and sleek design.
Nexus is the best phone in 2011.

2012 would be SIII.
SIII has equal battery life and camera with iphone4s while having better processor, ram and system than iphone4s.

What about iPhone 5? With custom ROM Nexus Battery life > iPhone 4S though.

Well, my reply was never intended to be rude, you just took it the wrong way.

My apologies if I missed your original post and misinterprete your intention, and sorry, I don't have the habit of digging through a person's story all the way back.

Then again, this will be my last reply to you since my recommendation of CM9 to solve your volume issue is not being appreciated or taken the wrong direction.

Thank you and have a nice evening.

Heard that they might finally be increasing the screen size to 4"... nowadays when I see the iPhone the first thing I notice is that the screen is tiny :s13:

With the quad core usage and better hi-res screen, the increased battery capacity may not mean increased battery life as compared to S2. We shall wait and see the review on the phone.

If you install custom rom with the right combination of kernel, you can actually get excellent battery life with the Nexus. Some has even reported 2 days of usage in a single charge on moderate usage.

a reassuring statement.

Leaning towards galaxy nexus after looking at HTC One X and the newly announced SIII.
