Tried resetting the device?
Ran into a annoying problem yesterday, the screen cannot detect my touch at all, so cannot even unlock. Hold power and vol down together for some time and the device shutdown. It became ok after powering up again. Very odd...

i have this same problem, till i got the latest O/S update ... then problem disappear ...
which version are u on?
i am on lollipop... well.. i managed to sort it out. remove the account.. reboot. still same...
then i want to setting-apps- remove google play store.. then i reinstalll google play store.. and log in again... wah lah! okay.. updated...
all is well...
I'm having the same problem with my n7 2013 also. Cannot register touch after waking from sleep mode. What I tried to do is to go put the n7 back to sleep mode (press power button once), and squeeze the area near the earphone jack using my thumb and index fingers, as if to tighten the connection between that area, and press power button again.
90% of the time I am able to get the touch to register after that. Not sure if it works for everyone..

I had the same problem last week. Then i just force stop Google Play Store then restart the installation again. it worked after that.

The screen size is perfect for casual browsing/reading. However, do note that the weight can feel pretty hefty after prolonged usage, but it isn't really a dealbreaker.
web browsing is quite alright, watching videos also quite shiok. reading ebooks, depend, if you read mostly pdf, maybe better to get a better screen size one.
Sounds quite ok for web browsing.is it cheaper to get it from amazon?they're selling it at 174.95usd right now

Haha got this about a year and 2 months back..
Have had erratic touch screen issues after about 6 months of use. Not sure of cause. Perhaps a drop may have messed up the internals.
Recently took it out from my bag and discovered a hairline crack across the screen (What would have caused it though..). Apparently such a hairline crack caused the digitiser to be broken, rendering the entire touch screen useless.
Now my tablet is a brick haha.
Any recommendations for a new tablet that is similar to the nexus 7?

The 5.1 image is not out for N7 (2013) yet, only the 2012 version.
