Is the sets at Starhub having the SLCD or the Super AMOLED? The SLCD is turning me off. :(

Is it true that the 9020 display improves from OS 2.3.2 to 2.3.3?
My 9020 is still at 2.3.2. When I check phone status it says it is up to date. What about you guys holding the non-local variant? What versions are yours on? How do i force mine to upgrade to 2.3.3?

I went to see it yesterday too. However I take note not to see the AMOLED screen samsung phones first

First impression - SLCD but actually acceptable, sharp text? yes. Whites look good. Basically I can accept it.

Second impression (after looking at the AMOLED Samsung Galaxy S) - AMOLED have colours that look much saturated, but i can't discern the "sharpness" differences of both sets.

My opinion: unless you have a SGS and is going to put the nexus S together with it and compare them both everyday....I wouldn't consider SLCD inferier in image quality.

Actually it's less about saturation of colors, more about black levels.

On SLCD, u can see the backlight, making black look like greyish. On AMOLED, black is pure inky black.

Barring the higher cost of entry of a SAMOLED Nexus S, the SLCD version is actually quite decent.
