Can i check around, not sure if my setting is wrong, but when I open google pay it requires my biometric before allowing payments. but for google wallet there is no biometric requirement? seems like it can instantly process. if so seems like a bad thing to have both apps on the phone at the same time.

Gpay can be used for contactless transactions but also p2p payments, so requires bio

Did you turn on the NFC?

If I am not wrong, tap to pay is via Google Wallet and not GPay.

Recently my google wallet requires verification before allowing payment, previously even from locked screen can pay directly.

Has anything changed?

Google Pay can use to send and receive money between people, sync and see activity on credit/debit cards, and use coupon offers (recommended)

vs

Google Wallet can keep credit cards, loyalty cards, etc., and can use to pay at stores that accept Google Pay

After installing and setting up Google Wallet on phone, how to use phone at MRT gantry? Enable NFC, unlock phone, then put phone at the gantry reader? Just like that, same as using card?

Is it reliable and as easy as using card?

Wake up your phone and put it near the reader. there's also an option to unlock your phone to use NFC

Google sunsetted Google Pay in states and folded it into Google Wallet.

Open wallet swipe to the card and tap.

But there was once it failed because too slow to verify.

I read the instructions. It says no need to do that. Just unlock phone, can already. No need to open app. Maybe instructions are wrong. Haven't tried out yet.

I tried to add PayNow to Google Wallet but it seems Google Wallet only accept credit cards. I don't see option to add PayNow.

Is it for PayNow, I have to use Google Pay?
