That is true for your daily driver la. But for those special occasions, I think you can afford to lug around a heavier camera that actually takes better photos and videos than the best mobile camera platforms.
I used to do that with Sony A1/A74 and GM lens. but it's too bulky/heavy and sometimes i just leave it in the hotel room. The best camera is the one with you. End of the day, if you not printing huge prints or doing stuff like birding, and only upload to social media, not much difference in quality due to the compression. Sure, one may look better than the other but to 99% of your audience, the gear wouldn't matter much.

For video, don't forget still need to edit and stuff. Import to pc, edit, export, upload. phone can straight away upload. it's much more convenient.

Of course there are some shots only dslr/mirrorless can, but for majority of the stuff, phone is more than good enough

I do like the pixel but the most annoying thing is the selfie camera is not as good as iPhone
I actually felt the Pixel's front camera is better than the iPhone 17 Pro's. The photo is more detailed and has a wider field of view. The only thing the iPhone 17 Pro's front camera wins is in the auto rotation without having to physically rotate the phone. But that's not something I cannot live without.

I personally always carry an actual camera with me (Sony a7CR w/ compact prime lens or Fujifilm X100VI) so I will always have something high quality to shoot with in addition to my X9U. They don't weigh much and is small enough to be used as an EDC.

A good smartphone camera system is always there when you need it, but if you really enjoy photography, a proper camera will never be beaten despite it being less convenient.

The Pixel 11 series is now eligible to join the Android Beta Program!

For those of you with a brand new Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, or Pixel 11 Pro Fold, you can get in on the newest of Android 17 builds by enrolling today. Google opened up the Android Beta Program moments ago.

We were sort of anticipating this to happen today, being a new month and all.

This will give your Pixel 11 series phone an update to Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4, which was announced at the end of last week. Google told us at the time that they would soon add the Pixel 11 phones and give them build CP41.260814.003.C2.

This new Android 17 QPR2 Beta is in testing and will go stable in December as a part of the Pixel Feature Drop to end the year. It’s a big update, with several new features, like deeper custom theme colors, Quick Settings area customization, App Lock, and more.

The best way to get this update is through the Android Beta Program (sign-up). If you are into flashing images, there are OTA images available (here) too.

TL;DR
  • Pixel 11 series users have been reporting an issue with Video Boost.
  • The issue causes static noise to appear in videos recorded with the feature.
  • A Google spokesperson has confirmed to Android Authority that a fix has been identified and a rollout will come in the following weeks.

The Pixel 11 series just recently launched, and it’s stumbling out of the gate with a video recording problem. If you’ve noticed noisy static in your recordings, you’re not alone. As Android Authority reported last week, a number of buyers have been experiencing this problem. Fortunately, it may not be long before a fix arrives.

To quickly summarize the situation, we spotted reports on Reddit that suggested there was an issue with Video Boost (a Pixel camera feature that enhances video color, lighting, stabilization, and low-light detail). According to the reports, videos captured with this feature on contained static noise. The cause of the issue is unknown, but some attributed it to an Audio Zoom (a feature that boosts the sound of the zoomed-in subject while cutting down background noise) bug.

After discovering these reports, Android Authority reached out to Google for comment. A spokesperson for the company has responded to our request with the following statement:

We have identified the cause and developed a software fix that will rollout to users in the coming weeks via the Camera app. Additionally, further performance optimizations will be included in an upcoming monthly Android update.

11 pro no OTA update leh.. XL gets updates faster than non xl??
Paid more for express update 😉
Just kidding. Probably in batches but I think the update might have made the network worse. It's the 6th of 7th time I lost network now since this morning. And I'm not even traveling.

It seems right now Mister Mobile offers the best price at $1278 for 11 pro, not considering whatever vouchers in shopee or other platforms. Let see what lower price 9.9 can bring.

And there seems to be no more decent deal or stock for pixel 10 pro out there anymore..
