imho.. adb sideload of OTA images is always the better way to update

1) don't have to wait for it push to your devices
2) you can directly adb sideload the latest OTA image. OTA updates are sequential. Meaning if you cold storage your device for 6 months. You have to OTA sequentially 6 updates
3) don't have to wait for the "preparing updates" screen
4) both A & B partitions are "image" flashed at one go at the recovery stage. no complications of updating when system is up and running.

11.0.0 (RP1A.200720.010, Sep 2020, EMEA and SG carriers)
11.0.0 (RP1A.200720.011, Sep 2020, All carriers except EMEA and SG)
11.0.0 (RP1A.201005.006, Oct 2020)

humm.. curious.. how did you end up with RP1A.200720.011? those in EMEA and SG should have 010

the update for Oct is universal thou. Per say there is no SG specific update. Most of the time it's universal. That's why imho it's better to do adb sideload OTA image flash. But as always update with your eyes OPEN.

adb method does not mess up with ota updates.

4a SG set should be on 010 not 011 for Sep.

adb sideload using OTA image is a full image flash. it's the only way to do a full image flash without unlocking the bootloader (which erases all user data) and doing fastboot flash-all

the OTA updates that gets pushed are delta based. and are used to patch the preceding system image on the phone. that's why they are sequential and take so bloody long!

not too chim right?

oh.. another thing.. you cannot revert to an older OTA image than your current. the only way to do that is to unlock bootloader and do a flash-all.

Guys, anyone bought the Pixel 4a and regretted so far?

I am currently using a Huawei P30 and the camera has been goot so far. The last Huawei series to be able to receive updates and use Google services.

I am eyeing the Pixel 4a too, but am afraid I will miss the wide angle lens on my P30. Used it quite often when I can't frame what I want to shoot using the main lens.

Too bad Pixel 4a5G is not launching officially in SG, the additional wide angle would have fit in perfectly.

should be ok if hachitech receipt and imei matches.
the person either manually flash with fastboot or adb sideload. Just use adb sideload to update to the latest oct image. should be all ok

you may want to make sure your bootloader is locked as well. in case he unlocked it.
