Try using Singpass app, it is instant.
I understand that Tracetogether is also quite fast, but I see it drain quite some battery

Only iPhone camera has build in QR reader. And maybe Samsung.

Everyone else has to use an app. I use Google Lens. Some use Wechat

Yes there is. Aim camera at qr code and u can see a small circle pop up on the screen, use your finger click on the qr code in the camera app, takes a couple secs for a link to pop up and you can click to open the we page to check in.

No issues with gpay, seamless and more convenient than using Samsung pay. Phone just needs to be unlocked and you can scan to pay.

Google pay don't need to unlock. Just with the screen on can pay up to 100. If above (including multiple transactions amounting to 100) then need to unlock to pay.

Yup. Very convenient for public transport not needing to unlock.

There is. You just need to wait a few secs for the cam to recognize that you are not trying to take a photo.
