I'm thinking of buying the Pixel 4a hopefully during BF or X'mas. Recently I've been reading some horror stories on reddit of phone spoiling because of abit of water. Is it really that bad?

I currently use redmi note 3 and usually sweat (phone in pocket), slight drizzle etc has no issues. Will pixel 4a be similar or must I be even more careful.
