It's not a hardware issue. Warranty won't help in any case.
Wait for Google to fix it.

Hello All,

I have problem using physical Sim and eSim on my Pixel 4a. When mobile data is selected for either number, the other number would not accept incoming calls or texts/OTPs.

Is this normal? I understand Pixel 4a is not really a dual sim phone, as stated on Google official website, as it depends on the telco network. I already wrote to Google but they are not keen to solve this issue for me, claiming it is beyond their scope of troubleshooting and refer me to check with my telco instead, which is Circles.Life. Both my eSim and physical SIM are from them.

Any hope of solving this? This issue has been ding-donging for many months. If not, I will have to switch to a truly dual Sim phone.

hi, may i know how did you manage to enable eSim? i can't even see the option to "add operator" and my "mobile network" option is greyed out be it when a physical sim is inserted or not.

The Telco operator will teach you how to add the eSim. M1 and Circles.Life have eSim option. Others I not sure.

actually there is no rocket science to add the eSim. just need to scan the QR code.. but im not seeing that option and have no way to add.

Try this

Go to Settings -> Network and Internet

Toggle Airplane Mode to Off.

When you toggle it back to On, you will see the "+" reappear briefly. Quickly tap on it.

Can't be so fast. I repeated it a few times and even managed to catch screenshot to show you.

When you turn on Airplane mode, wait a while to let it settle and the radios turn off completely. Don't just quickly toggle it.

Yea... for me now is more of 'want' then a 'need'. 4a still working very well for me and since I've been WFH I actually feel less the need of having a new phone.
