Hi guys,

need your inputs here. My Pixel 4a (non 5G) started to have problems. It keeps switching to Emergency mode, and the dial number pad keeps showing up. Even though I switched it back to normal mode, it keeps switching back. Once it even dial 999. My god.... lol....

I did a hard reset, and I removed the sim card. After restoring my Google account, the emergency mode came back. I give up. Now I am using my wife's old phone, S10+.

I think in emergency mode, hit the pound (#) key. some numbers will appear on your screen and dial the numbers to exit emergency mode. turn off your phone for ~10 minutes, and then turn the phone back on. your phone will starts functioning normally

hi, thanks for the reply.

I re-used my 4a again, surprisingly, the emergency mode glitch didn't surface at all. Also not sure if the latest security patch updates help.

Happy to be using my 4a again.

Try your cable and charger with another device. if it works, check you charging port for dust or lint. then plug in to see if it charges. unless your battery is fully discharged. leave it charge for a few minutes until you see the battery icon. if all else fails, either a defecting charging port or battery liao

Tried charging again with the phone switched off, its works. But during system update, its unable to charge again. Let's see after system update it can charge again. Wierd.

I don't know what is Google obsession with the data/wifi quick toggle. They have updated it again with the Dec update, adding more taps to complete what is a supposed to be a simple action.

I have already send in my opinions on this via the phone feedback portal. Someone needs to explain to them the meaning of a QUICK toggle.
