Personally, since I don't play a lot of games on my phone, would prefer to see snapdragon 780g instead.
860/870 are basically refresh of 865 which is akin to 865+ / 865++

Whereas 780G is expected to perform in between 855 & 865 in terms of games but has a scaled down triple ISP similar to SD 888. This should help a lot for the camera which happens to be the main selling point of Google Pixel phones.

My guess is, SD 732g for the A devices and SD 780g for the premium model.

Yes, the processing speed is one thing. Personally, it's bearable on my Pixel 4a and fast enough on my sd855 s10e with gcam.

What excites me with the triple ISP is that it brings the ability to process multiple camera sensors simultaneously.

Makes sense to use a lower series processor if the 888's photo/video functionality isn't optimised fully by the software. Also, I get the feeling that most Pixel users do not intend on gaming on their phone but take lots of photos instead.

My thoughts exactly. Hardcore gamers would not consider Pixel phones as their 1st choice. That's why i am hoping Google will use 780g as it's the first mid-range ( cheaper) Snapdragon with a triple isp config. Besides that, i also hope they won't give up on the smaller compact size for next gen release.

No point having triple ISP if Google decided to use the same old main sensor from pixel 3. From what I read, the triple ISP is use for taking photos from different lens simultaneously. Google might or might not even implement the feature in software. The issue with pixel now is it doesn't offer a much better experience from other flagships while providing lackluster hardware for the price. Looking at pixel 5, the hardware is so weak comparing to other phone in the same price range. I rather they put jn better processor/camera sensors In pixel 6 since they would cost at least 700 USD or 1000 SGD.

Even if its a custom Exynos, it will still be better than the current Snapdragon 765G... also lets not forget that if Google has its own design input, the Pixel OS will almost definitely be optimized for the new chip too like how Apple optimizes iOS for its own chips.

If the price stays the same or cheaper than current Pixel 5, it will be a good improvement. I've held back upgrading my Pixel 3 for awhile now... both Pixel 4 and 5 have both improvements and drawbacks... not really a true upgrade.

They need one that make SoC. Sony don't make SoC so Sony is out. Even camera, Google auto is still better than Sony. Sony should collaborate with google instead for the camera sw.
