When the 4A reached our shores at 499, most people were pretty happy with the price point. Seriously, you have to live with the flaws of their Exynos chipset at the price you are paying, I don't think it's a very good deal. Most reviewers on Twitter also confirmed the "slow" 60hz mkbhd reported in his review, there's a weird choppiness to the phone and we don't know if it's due to firmware or it's something else. Don't know why people making excuses for Google on Twitter, a company is not your friend.
fan boys got to fan boy honestly.. it's like the console wars.. just hoping that they do patch the issue later on then can still consider if the price comes down.. or 7a..

SIC.

Shopee just dropped me a voucher with 10000 coins cashback if purchase pixel 6a.
Google authorized dealer also have $10 discount voucher.
Effectively making the phone $639 and still got free Fitbit.

You are welcome guys.
$499 also won't buy. Not much diff from 4a as it stands. 60Hz with extra lag, nah.

Just played with a demo unit at at Challenger. Settings was locked, unable to see software version. Google better release a day one OTA update otherwise a lot of Pixel owners are going to cry about dropped frames

Yes, DROPPED FRAMES. Not LAGGY like what most YouTubers are saying. The phone is snappy switching from app to app. But when you flick and scroll a long list or website with heavy content, I can see the skips in the animation. The consolation is that this is fixable by software updates.

More and more youtube videos coming out on pixel 6a problems... Why they just cant iron everything out before release... Anyways, my motto is: buy something as it is out of the box and dont trust anything that they claimed can be ironed out via software update as it might not even happen or even cannot be fixed

Unfortunately this is the case with more or more electronics and especially games.
Almost every game launch will surely have a day 1 patch.

To be honest, the Pixel 5 was probably my best Pixel phone I've used. Just wished there was more storage. FPS was fast and reliable. Don't know why Google is regressing in vital areas which is a huge annoyance on a daily basis. They should get basic stuff like this correct. Almost seems like the new Google phones are perpetually in beta versions.

got youtube video stating he dont have such issue though. he even invited his wife to test

but if it really has issue, this is a potential security threat liao. but it should be software related which can be fixed though

I really wanted to get Pixel 5 too but the under display speaker was a dealbreaker.

It wasn't as bad as people made it out to be actually but yeah it could have been better. That was another downside of Pixel 5. They just had to improve 1 or 2 things for every generation to get it perfect but they just keep missing the mark. I don't know if it's intentional or they just are clueless about what to fix.

I suspect units shipped to these YouTubers may come with different software versions.
Like the demo set I tested with the skipped frames, I cannot check software version as settings was locked.
So the issue I encountered may or may not even appear on the retails units 🤞

those youtubers one are still stuck with april update so it should be either beta version or google's internal software release... it is still not a public release version though
