Update: Turned off screen protector mode, register 2 slots each for both thumb print, it is a lot more reliable now. About 8 out of 10 passes. Sadly, only can insert 4 prints, so might have to forgo registering index fingers.

I think it might be software bro, my fingerprint sensor also start to chut pattern many many after last firmware update.

Actually, you might be right. Sometimes chut pattern. Just now I tried to unlocked, it just has the white flash with no haptics. Managed to unlock after tapping the power button to off and on the screen couple of times then try fingerprint again.

Not on stock OS, but anyone kena before?

Update: Nvm, OS was updating while I was attempting to unlock.

1. anyone using glass protector for rear camera? will it lead to blur images? afraid that I will scratch the lens eventually.

2. natively is there any other ways to lock the phone other than power button? I tried searching settings but don't see any other than power button and time out. Very used to Samsung double tap but trying not to use 3rd party apps.

3. on Google main page, there is a date with weather that I cannot shift or remove, am I able to add time to it or remove it totally? I understand the search bar cannot be removed but not sure about this date and weather widget.

4. was previously using Google pay. I see there is Google wallet on p7 too, is this a separate app or they serve the same function?

5. swiping right to google news feed, do you guys often feel the stutter or lagginess?

update 2: this does not work anymore. somehow it was working well and almost flawlessly for the 1 hrs plus after I did the above. Now, it fails almost 100% of the time.

1. It might interfere with the flash. Or if there is a strong light during the night, lens flare will be prominent.

2 & 3. Can be solved and what you are looking for should be in Nova Launcher or some other Launcher apps. What you mentioned is all the symptoms that when everyone just coming in into the stock android world.

4. Wallet is a basic form of GPay. GPay has more functions. You can download GPay and set the GPay to be the default payment.

5. The stuttering is when it is updating of news feed. I don't find it intrusive. But it is what it is for now.

4. iirc google pay is natively for singapore market (i.e. paynow). wallet is main app. both serves it purposes.

I'm using WSD and turn off protector mode. fp unlock 100% works, no miss.

I am using Nova Launcher which allows me to double tap on the screen to lock the phone.

for 2, u can download an widget called "Screen off widget and tile" from playstore and then u can double tap to turn off the screen and it is FOC.

Because it works well especially fresh after new fingerprint enrollment and the efficacy goes down the hill after some time, I thought it has to be software related.

1. Try use a skin instead, covers well, suitable for cases too.

2. No way to natively turn off display without touching the power button, u need launcher or app widget

5. I turned off the swipe to news feed, the feed irrelevant to me, and switching off makes the phone more responsive, aka bloatware.
