This I agree. VoIP calls are still unreliable. Walking and talking using WA is not good and I will fall back to traditional calling, though I dunno if VoLTE is activated or not.Nah. It is definitely still a long way to go. Coming from where my statistics come from, VoLTE is here to stay. And Telco won't spent even more money on VoNR 5G calls if VoLTE is not relevant.
The one thing for sure, Voip calls such as from Whatsapp/teams/Meet etc are still very unreliable in a sense that they can tend to go laggy or when the data at the area is very poor, they tend to skip or go lower sampling rate voice causing the voice to be muffled at times. Another good example voip to a user in overseas. This at times you can hear the extra slowness when you talking to a person. Or you can even hear echo on what you said.
Unlike the traditional volte. Although it is semi like voip calls. It is digital sampling of our voice over the LTE network. It is much clearer and cleaner than voip, despite even if the base stations are congested network. And it is much more reliable in terms of overseas calls such as call latency and call clarity. And even if the network is totally congested, calls are still ongoing, voice sampling may drop but the very least, your calls won't get disconnected, but just not crystal clear voice. The only time it will drop call is when the network is too pour and you got no reception at all. Or when the network is really faulty.
As for overseas calls, I can't remember the last time I made an IDD call. Does it work with 019 calls (which is VOIP) or only the premium 001?
