Eh? I'm using GOMO, got the 5G icon

Have been on gomo for the past 2-3 years, just upgraded from the 5a to the pixel 7. I have never had 5G connectivity, just LTE, even when I purchased the 5G plan for a month to see if I could get it, no such luck.

When you pull down the notification bar, you will see something like this - beside the battery icon:

thanks for @algerr for the pic but @tictactor , you still get the percentage on the bar when the notification shade is not pulled down. Personally, it doesn't bother me that me because both do the same job with difference interpretation. It actually might be quite useful to know roughly when the battery is going to run out. It annoys me more that the clock on the left is not aligned correct with the rest of the text

BTW Amazon France pixel 7 pro (128gb) is at 726 eur, after vat rebate and shipping, it's less than $1k sgd.
