If p7 series can met what p3 and p4 previously (storage variants cost precisely the same or cheaper iirc) but packed in more hardware like face unlock, soli

P7 - 8 / 256gb
$999

P7 - 8 / 512gb
$1,149

P7p - 12 / 256gb
$1,299

P7p - 12 / 512gb

Issues listed are usually model-specific

Yes some Pixel A-series models used mid-range cpu, but this is no longer the case

Yes some models had poor battery life, but models like pixel 5a had good battery life

Most pixel models perform well for photography, maybe videography not at flagship level, but better recently

Pricing of pixel 6a quite competitive for specs offered

Perhaps you haven't used pixel models recently, it's no longer just pure android experience, many features are pixel-only, not available on other pure android models from motorola or nokia

U have a point. But camera is pretty good. Recent pixels have better battery. Faster updates. Pricing is still a problem so hopefully it get priced competitively.

One other thing to stress is google tends to release products that start badly n improve with updates. This is y i rarely get their latest products

Read some negative reviews on tensor, it's samsung cpu n overheats. Google also stop using snapdragon, which is a pity
