When I got my BTO, I use smart switches for everything. My fan also smart fan. Only issue is Google like to randomly break things on Google Home, very annoying. They broke controls for my smart home fans that were working fine for 2 years. Maybe I'll switch to Alexa if things don't improve.

There's too many dependency. Broadlink, Orvibo, Tp-Link, Xiaomi. Slowly the lesser branded one get more and more timeout. My house not that big, I just walk a few steps to the switch nowadays.

Finally decided to get the Nest Audio instead of Nest Hub. Prefer better sound quality than a screen. Also planning for Pixel Tablet next year.
