Er... Pixel 8 series is A14 out of the box. No way to downgrade OS.

As playstore Whatsapp version usually slowly to update. U can try to update directly from Whatsapp. Hopes this is able to help you

Did that, now using "2,23,21,75". Still same issue, app always close window during typing. Crashes every time I use, not just for photos.

Wah.something not right with starhub. My old pixel 2xl only supporting LTE from Singtel can get 100 Mbps, starhub 5g SIM on pixel 8 cannot go above 25. Even if not 5g this is still so low. I am wondering if it is my phone or what

Selfie camera too good issit? I try Singpass face verification scan like 10+ times in lousy light condition then can pass.

I tried > 10 times in a reasonably well-lit room (window light), cannot get it to pass. In the end, requested a PIN mailer. The Singpass face verification algo must be sai or overly strict.

1) the singpass face verification took me many tries to get it down, previously tried to help my dad, cannot at all. their face verification sucks

2) it's normal that pixel 8 runs hot easily? like when i download game files on my phone. yesterday got my phone, setting up my phone on the apps in pixel 8, it was running hot while setting apps up.

3) anyone using michat? it's not working for me in pixel 8, it keep stuck at the boot up screen

I am a noob here. Since Pixel 2XL, I switched to iphone and now back with Pixel 8 Pro.
Anyway, flipped through pages and didnt notice anything on these so asking to the community for some advice.
1. I am using Starhub 5G SIM and plan. But I cannot connect to 5G. Speed test gives me 20Mbps (so I know even if it shows 5G on screen corner, it is not). Any advice on how to connect to 5G?
2. Whatsapp crashing non stop - probably known issue, I am assuming have to wait for update for this to be fixed? Any workaround for now?

5G speed vary greatly.

In display and font size settings, leave font size on default and move the display size to middle notch.

Makes everything look similar to P7P for me.

So your top right state 5G or LTE?
You can try request to replace your 5G SIM, can do it in the starhub app or go to a starhub store. There seem to be some changes with their SIM card.

You guys using screen protector that covers the selfie cam?
I use the ringke non-TG cover selfie cam but 1 time ok liao.

You can try installing older versions of Whatsapp and see how, maybe Sept or Aug versions.

I uninstalled (kept data) and went back to a much earlier version (APK) 2.23.19.83 from the end of September. This appears to be working OK as I sent a message and it didn't crash immediately. May not last but will see.

Update - calls, messages and notifications working again. This would indicate that this isn't a pixel issue but WhatsApp have rolled out a sub standard release.
