Not weird if they have some exclusive deal in place. Maybe singtel / shopee disti agree to take X amount of units and in turn Google will provide timed exclusivity. Happens very often for video games which is locked to certain platform/shop before wider release.

The FAQ doesn't say that the $400 is only for plan purchases...so..... Fingers crossed. But the T&C is contradictory.

The phone voucher can only be utilised to offset the upfront payment for the Pixel 8 | Pixel 8 Pro device within the same transaction. There is no refund of the unutilised amount in cash or other means.

Customers who are purchasing the Pixel 8 | Pixel 8 Pro will enjoy a phone voucher in the form of a cashback credited to the Singtel bill within 2 billing cycles. The cashback is used to offset recurring Singtel bill payment until the full value of the cashback has been utilised.

haha i highly doubt so. I was already surprised they will be selling the phones without plans with instalment available.
