was playing with handsets at courts over the weekend.

I am actually quite impressed with the Honor Magic5 Pro for the specs and pricing (S$1249 msrp, 12gb/512gb). It has google play store. Displayout. 100x digital zoom. Snapdragon 8G2. UFS 4.0. Wireless charging. Its all there. Very complete.
I am very rarely impressed.

Check it out first if anybody is keen or considering pixel 8 / iphone 15 etc.

I am currently using the Magic5pro and am still asking why I pre-ordered the P8P. Since it is delivering tomorrow, i will just play with it and compare. I have a feeling I will be keeping my Magic5Pro as the camera is really very good and the screen is also good . I can play with my phone in my dark (i shouldn't) and still go sleep after that (maybe it was the high PWM). I can't do that with my previous S23Ultra lol.

Man I love and hate the strict USB-C on the Pixel series. Just in case anyone trying to buy those portable battery bank with built in cable, majority of them not compliant to the USB-C standards.

You plug in your own cable no problem, but the built in cable of the USB won't work. How I know? Tried 3 different brand, the built in cable won't even work on the Pixel. But the good thing I guess no need to scared our Pixel burnt by bad cables?

If I find one that works I'll report.
I always try to avoid devices with built in cables for a different reason.
You are able to replace the cable easily otherwise it becomes a paperweight

Pixel series might not be the best spec phone. But it's the user experience even though some feature not available in SG but can be unlocked when rooted :)

based on your experience, is it easily hard bricked ?
everything is at your own risk. however, if you know what you are doing, it should be fine.

if everything fails, there is always bootloader mode for you to flash your firmware if you cant boot back to recovery mode

Research and look at other comments before doing anything that might caused a soft or hard brick. If soft brick you still might have a chance to recover. But hard brick then RIP

I'm beginning to feel and think like this.. maybe i will postpone and wait and se...
Still have 2 days to rethink. Current approx $450 discount will likely be the best deal among all the major sales to come. There is no perfect phone, so don't stress out too much.

Got other factors like having samsung pay and also using samsung galaxy watch.
Ah.... okay, you will have to think about it more. I don't use Samsung Pay nor any form of smart watch. More flexible in terms of switching handsets.
