Cons / Bug?

-There's no NFC toggle in the quick menu?

-"Best Take" is buggy, I took 15 shots of the group photo but wasn't able to trigger the "Best Take" option in google photo.

-Unable to activate "Pro Control for the camera (iso, wb, others) " in GCAM, the UI is different from what Google shows in their launch.

-The magic eraser is buggy, sometimes it works, sometimes nahhh

I see see, in the end iphone 15 pro max with lower dpi has the best screen between itself, S23U and Pixel 8 pro.

I use magic eraser on Pixel Custom Rom, sometimes ok but most of the time, the background is blurry.
Camera stuff can slowly improve ba.

NFC toggle can't find after edit?

Apparently NFC toggle has never been a thing on Pixel.

The firmware also maybe running production one.

Aiya if you don't like what you saw don't buy it. I think your gut feel after you hands on is accurate as to whether you will enjoy the phone or not.

I suggest you skip this gen.

Yea, Apple really know how to choose panel.

I went and took a second look this time in dark mode, and I can see abit of color fringing around icons.

Actually nothing major lah, I see all both light and dark modes already.

Just that apple's screen is more luminous (not just bright) and just have an overall best viewing experience even though lower dpi.

But importantly for me, p8p has a much brighter max brightness than S23U so it's an improvement for sure.

Agree, if you feel not good enough then best not to buy later regret.

But i will just say those features you mentioned are probably software and may get better overtime after some updates.
I have not seen the NFC toggle for a long time already. So google probably wont add it back.

Yeah, I agree. It looks fine to me anyway unless you go finding those issue.

Been using the Pixel 8 Pro for a day now. Tried to push the thermals of the device to see how it acts up. Compared to the Tensor G2 on the Pixel 7 Pro, it looks like a better story but not all good.
The Tensor G3 did not heat up during the setup process, it did not get unbearable during 4k 30 FPS 10-bit HDR video recording as well. These are relative positives.
The phone is unfortunately on the September patch and seems to have blocked some benchmark apps from the Play Store which is suspicious. So take this test with a pinch of salt.
