Wow.... Super "nice" price. I wonder how much sales are they looking at at this price when p8 is around the same pricing as it is out in the market for a while now....

Looking from a business POV, this looks like repeat of last year's tactics. See how everyone now is recommending to buy Pixel 8 instead because 8a is poor value ? With Pixel 9 coming soon, makes sense for Google to start clearing existing stock. When the 9 is out, Google can do a promo price cut for 8a to restore the price gap. This is why I never buy at launch, price and potential hardware quality issues.

Now probably best deal is 8 Pro because

(1) 7 Pro may not get the 7 years support
(2). 8 Pro got 7 years support
(3) Google strategy very software based. 8 Pro may get that kind of new AI features.

Lastly at $1000 for flagship is close 2 eyes. Samsung also never sell their old model so cheap

Pixel is never to buy during launch.
Yes you might get this get that free gifts/voucher here and there but you have actually paid the RRP upfront.
I beg to differ for last year’s Pixel 7a.

Let’s not take into account the $120 Google Store credit then. The rest are cash or as good as cash.

If I don’t take into account the $120 Google Store credit, I’m essentially paying $464 for the phone.

I bought the $119 Pixel Stand with the Google Store credit and sold it for $90, which means essentially i am eventually paying only $374 for the phone.

$749 RRP
Minus $85 Citibank discount.
Minus $150 from the free Fitbit Charge 5 which i sold off.
Minus $120 Google Store credit.
Minus $50 Amazon.sg Gift Card.

i feel they are going down the iphone path- trying to charge premium for loyalists who like the stock android/camera experience. but tbh i rather spend my money on oneplus 12 or vivo x100 pro ( both CN sets). with those 4k/8k video captures (heavy user like myself) 512gb is the bare min or even 1tb if the price doesnt differ much.
