Yup, given that the P8 is not receiving Gemini, it's clear that G-spot is prioritizing higher-end models nia. consumers either pay for a higher-end model to access the smart features or forgo them. in a worse scenario, G-spot might ask users to pay for a G-spot one subscription to get Gemini on the P8, despite citing 'hardware limitations. even Sammy is offering its AI in Galaxy phones for free until the end of 2025, will eventually require users to pay for its use lohThis is what happened exactly to P8 currently, no? P8 is not getting Gemini based on reports and yet P8 is also on the latest Tensor just like P8P. Even the entry level S24 can support Gemini. Furthermore, 8a is a budgeted model, I gighly doubt Google will be focusing on budgeted models as much. My gut feeling tells me that Google will be trimming more and more services for the budgeted series.
Yup agree. Also, I don't really buy the idea of some of the AI features like Magic Eraser etc has to be on the cloud and send back to their servers. Other manufacturers can achieve all these on-device but why not Pixel phones since Pixels are equipped with the AI chips. It's just unbelievable.Yup, given that the P8 is not receiving Gemini, it's clear that G-spot is prioritizing higher-end models nia. consumers either pay for a higher-end model to access the smart features or forgo them. in a worse scenario, G-spot might ask users to pay for a G-spot one subscription to get Gemini on the P8, despite citing 'hardware limitations. even Sammy is offering its AI in Galaxy phones for free until the end of 2025, will eventually require users to pay for its use loh
G-spot might not be providing consumers with the complete picture of tensor. they upsell tensor with phrases like 'got tiger, got dragon,' but in reality, it's painfully slow, especially when using video boost. we'll have to wait until 2025 to see the genuine tensor without Sammy foundry involvementYup agree. I only have Pixel 7, magic eraser is not cloud based. Does the new magic editor on pixel 8 require internet access ? AFAIK, only video boost function needs to send to Google servers for processing.Yup agree. Oh it does not? My mistake. But I did encountered some internet connection issues before when editing photos. Might be something else then.I only have Pixel 7, magic eraser is not cloud based. Just turn off mobile data and wifi on your phone and try to use magic eraser, it should work. I used it extensively while travelling. I can't say for magic editor as it has not been released for pixel 7 series yet.Oh it does not? My mistake. But I did encountered some internet connection issues before when editing photos. Btw speaking of magic editor, I cannot seems to find this function in the Google photo app. Am I missing anything?Just turn off mobile data and wifi on your phone and try to use magic eraser, it should work. Oh! Now I remember this icon. I think I tapped on this last time and it promoted me to upload to Google photos before I can proceed. This is why I was thinking why can't the photo editing be done on the device. Mistaken this with the magic eraserSelect a photo and edit it. you will see the icon in the bottom left corner

Wah... If it's not on device/offline, then no point upgrading to Pixel 8 series liao. I can understand for video boost as the files are too big to handle for a phone right now but it should be doable on device for pictures. And if all the heavy lifting is done by Google servers, then it should not be artificially limited to only the new phones.Oh! Now I remember this icon. Well dont put too much hope looking at how much 7a is priced. 7a is priced so close to 7….Wonder how much would the 8a be priced here..
If history is any indication, the Pixel 8a will be priced either at $749 or $799Wonder how much would the 8a be priced here..
Ya lohWell dont put too much hope looking at how much 7a is priced. 7a is priced so close to 7….
totally defeat the purpose of having “a” series
Ya man, now we can already get the pixel 8 around the $750 range. If the 8a is priced at $750 to $799 there is really no point to get it because it is a watered down version of the P8 unless the street price goes down to below $600. Sweet spot is around the $550 range.Well dont put too much hope looking at how much 7a is priced. 7a is priced so close to 7….

If you wait around for Shopee sale or get from street shop. Can easily find the P8 for around $750.Where to get Pixel 8 around $750?
If the 8a is around $799 then it is really not worth it at all.
Is the 7a worth hooting slightly above $500?
