Backup on old device beforehand, just copy the whatsapp folder to the new phone and choose restore when starting whatapp.

Almost all my data gets transferred over during the setup because i chose to copy from existing phone. Then whatever is left over in my doc or download folders. The most annoying part are all the bank and gov apps.
