Take note Google store preorder come with the 1 year Google One AI Premium plan. It has 2TB cloud storage. 256GB should be more than sufficient, $180 for additional 256GB a bit too much. Can just buy an external USB C storage drive to copy data out.

I don't know how people use so much space.

all my phones are 128 gb . all have 60+ gb left.

the biggest files are pictures and videos which I don't really take at all. holiday then snap some. locally no reason to.
