The way I see Google is marketing this Pixel series, I don't think their prices will go down in the near future. Google is trying to maintain a premium brand like what Apple is doing. Since they change the brand name from Nexus to Pixel and controlling the hardware design as well, Google is trying to boost profits from the higher end segment.
