Hey guys! I'm a happy XL owner that I bought from Mobyshop. I'd like my girlfriend to have a Pixel so that she doesn't waste money on an iPhone, but I wanted to ask you about repair. Is there a store in Singapore that repairs Pixel ? If she drops it for example. I don't think this is covered by warranty?
I admit I bought mine without thinking about all this but she doesn't have unlimited money and I wouldn't want her to spend so much for a non fixable device.
Thanks guys!
1) Pixel price is about comparable to iPhone 7 pricing.
2) I bought from Mobyshop too. They mentioned that the shop can refer us to a 3rd party repair shop if needed to.
3) If you are a careless user, I suggest you buy a phone with proper warranty coverage. Ours don't have a warranty. So be prepared to turn it into an expensive brick under the worst case scenario.
Thanks for the answer !
The part about no warranty is scary.... We don't even have possibility to send it back to Google in Australia? (They said my set is Australian, should be the same for you I think).
The 3rd party repair shop is a good news, thanks for the info ! Would you happen to have the name?
And about the price, I meant the Pixel is undeniably better and she was considering the iPhone, it would have been wasting money in a sense
Thanks again!
I noticed on GSM Arena, LTE band 7(2600) is listed as one of the bands on the USA model. According to List_of_LTE_networks_in_Asia, our 3 main telcos all use 7(2600). Doesn't this mean that we can actually use the US Pixel in SG on our LTE network?
I'm using international version of the 2013 Nexus 5 with 4G network.
GSM Arena Nexus 5 vs Pixel XL
Anyone has any idea?

Is there a way to get hold of a blue pixel ? Understand it is a limited edition.

This has been discussed and mentioned numerous times and there was no mention that US set is not compatible with SG LTE. US set supports all SG LTE bands, 3, 7, and 8 (only stinktel). Why did you have the impression US set is not compatible with SG LTE?
Go buy direct from Google if you're worried about warranty, at least you will be able to send it back to Google.
Go buy from US Google store, if got stock.
So in summary, differences between US/Int set should not matter to you unless you're on Singtel. Correct?
Need to sticky a faq for this .
Mine is a an Irish set. I have forgotten to ask Moby. I wonder why can't they return back to the original re-seller if there is any problem with the phone. Maybe you like to ask them? My suspicious is Moby must have purchased the phones at cheaper pricing but without any warranty coverage.
The problem if you send to a 3rd party repair shop, will you trust them with all your data inside the phone? I did not ask the name of the shop.
I think I am prepared to write it off if my Pixel is broken.
Hi guys! If i'm buying a resale set from the open market, what are the things i should be looking out for? E.g: Cosmetic damages, port damages, hardware/software issues? My seller has mentioned that what i'm buying is a ROW set, but will the model be imprinted on the back of the phone, or do i have to switch the phone on to do a check? I'm kinda worried that I'll get the wrong set if i don't check correctly.
