They're only USB 2.0 though.

cable can hoot from shawniiex actually, the cables are pretty good but the type c to type c is only usb 2.0 (not that it matters now right? since most still use type a to c to connect to pc) he is selling type a to c usb 3.0 also

Well, if you wanna save a few bucks and don't mind waiting 2 weeks, the one I linked to worked. They're not in the google docs list of cables, but they have the 56Kohm pull-up resistor and pass the Nexus 5X adb shell "cat /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/fusb301/*/fclientcur" test. Ampere also shows it to charge as fast or even slightly faster than the Google provided A-C cable.

the problem of buying those cheapo unbranded products from aliexpress is the keyword consistency. What you purchase for this batch may be different from next batch.

I ordered these about 2 weeks ago, they are both not compliant on both CheckR and UsbCheck. I guess they cheaped out on the production process or something. A bit disappointed.

I rather pay for a $11-3=$8 for a branded cable that can be purchased locally for a 1k+ product. penny wise pound foolish

Sure, that's an entirely acceptable decision. I made sure I tested my cable before I used it with my Pixel as well. Perhaps I got lucky. However, some other major manufacturers have also had some batches that are compliant, and others that aren't, so in the infancy of the Type C standard, it's always advisable to test before usage.

Interestingly, though it passed the adb test, my cable actually pulls a lot more juice from my Xiaomi power bank (which is rated at 2.1A output). Google's original C-A cable only pulls 700+mA, while my el cheapo one pulls over 1800mA. Still well within spec of the power bank. Wonder why Google's cable is so conservative.

I am using Google original C-A cable with xiaomi PB, and able to get around 1.2A-1.4A output to my N6P, so the Google cable is fine.

1) Try your Google cable on another power bank to verify that it is good. Although it is unlikely to be bad.

2) Your Xiaomi powebank might be a hazard to your Pixel, that is why the phone is drawing little current with Google cable. There must be something wrong with your new cable that is not allowing Pixel to detect with Xiaomi powebank..

Just my 2 cents of engineering view.

To add on, I hope you are looking at the current flow from very low battery balance. High balance will draw less current than low balance.

I just wanna point out an example which is Remax.
Everyone knows this brand yeah?
But so many have faced cables that work and dont work even though they purchase at the same time.
So cheap cables are TRULY about luck.

Sure, it may be different, but I don't believe the one with Pixel is worse than N6P.
