Well someone managed to screenshot the Verizon's sales page before it was taken down....

Based on the telco-subsidized prices, the rumoured retail prices don't look far-fetched... And oops I got it wrong. According to Android Police, the 128GB Pixel XL is likely going for USD870 instead.

Maybe Google thinks the price is justified with the unlimited Google Photos backup at original resolution.....
