We’re not expecting the July 2025 Pixel update to start rolling out until next week, but Verizon’s changelog provides an early preview.
Verizon has prematurely released its Pixel 6a-9 Pro Fold — Pixel 6 and 6 Pro curiously excluded — update changelogs. The release date was yesterday (July 2), but Google has yet to release anything as of Thursday morning.
From the email to Pixel 6a owners, we expect this month’s update to start rolling out on Tuesday, July 8. Google no longer sticks to the first Monday of the month, but it’s usually still around then. The July 4th holiday in the US typically pushes things back a bit.
The software version/build number (BP2A.250705.008) looks accurate, but the Android Security Patch Level is listed as “June 2025.” That’s presumably a mistake.
Anyways, the July 2025 Pixel update changelog has two items:
- Display & Graphics: Improves smoother visual experiences in apps like Android Auto.
- Wi-Fi: Improves Wi-Fi connectivity stability and performance in certain conditions.
Don’t expect a Pixel Watch update this month (next one should be in September) unless Google has identified pressing Wear OS fixes.
