When WILL IT avail for sale in SG?

SG so small market. OEMs also testing water now I think they don't dare make too many lol.

[Sauron]

Will this even be sold locally?

[halocast]

No idea what they doing honestly, not here nor there unless their gemini becomes so godlike, price drop or the usage becomes more clear. i dun see these taking off

1. Chromebook itself is not so successful in Singapore even though there are a few vendors selling them locally (eg: Acer and Asus).

The main markets Chromebook is successful is probably the education market in US. Not so much in Singapore school system.

2. My daughter was using a low spec S$400 Asus Chromebook (Flip CM1, 14 inch touch screen , AMD3015CE, 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC, three years warranty) for her P5/P6 (2023/2024) as recommended by the school. It was usable even though not fast back then.

But her secondary school changed to recommend low spec Windows Laptop in 2025.

Acer TravelMate Spin TMB312RN-31 Convertible, Intel N250 CPU, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, with Active Stylus Pen add-on. Three years carry-in Warranty. Price at S$683.40. With device management application installed by the school.

3. Googlebook may still be successful in US education market and some newer Chromebooks are able to upgrade to GoogleBook.

Probably not in Singapore.

Depends on price when converted over

Acer Googlebook $899 US price on first glance don't look good but when Macbook Neo also hike to $599 $699
And this has 16GB RAM and OLED touchscreen over 8GB/LCD screen of MBN

If $899 even have any kind of discounts, suddenly Googlebook look very competitive

Chromebooks are lower tier... with less powerful hardware while Googlebooks are higher tier with more powerful hardware... and i think the latter also enables more seamless access to Android apps than the former

Pricing doesn't seem to make sense....would rather a traditional laptop at this price.
