Gopro , hp cam or compact digital

Hi all,
Im looking for a cam under $500 for day to day point and shoot purposes, much be light weight and having gd image quality. Not into extreme sports, but do normal hikings and sports. Which is a suitable cam to recommend?

Currently using hp cam but quality os low end. Used to own a mirrorless sony a5000 but i find it too bulky. So thinking of a go pro as point and shoot.

You can check out Canon m10 or Panasonic gf9 or gf8 older model. Yah I do know the price is little high but both model are small and product pretty good image
