Yes, but it's not cheap to the point where u have to buy it. I was there for a very short time 2 weeks ago, and i'd say the selection isn't extensive(like Burberry didn't even have ladies' bags). But GAP was really cheap($16 for a men's shirt) so that was the only thing we got.

FYI, i was travelling from Hakone to Fuji and Gotemba is like the transfer point to Fuji so it was really convenient to stopover.

I wasn't there to spend big bucks so most of the time i walked in and out of shops in 5mins. I didn't see JMWeston..not familiar with this brand.

Yeah the cheapest items in Singapore's GAP is $30+ so that shirt was really worth it. Oh u should also go information counter, present your passport and get this coupon which will give extra 5% discount.

I stayed in Lake kawaguchi and took the bus to Gotemba station and transfer to the free shuttle from there. Pls factor in traveling time, IIRC, it took more than an hour

I was bored to death at the Prince Outlets, but my wife seemed to enjoy it and bought stuffs from there. Don't go there if that outlets is your only reason of going. But if just a side trip because you wanted to visit the town, Then go. As the place is very pleasant. Rent a bike to the roam about. Very nice experience.

Gotemba is good if you are already planning to tour Hakone. It's not a prime destination but it is easily accessible by bus at Shinjuku station (opposite Yodobashi). Takes about 1.5 hrs I think.

Thanks for reply. Actually is a side trip there but just not sure whether to spend whole day at the outlet cos we planning 2d1n there. 1 day roaming around the town and 1 day shopping.

the side benefit of gotemba outlets is the fantastic view of Mt Fuji.

1 day outlet shopping is too much unless you are in the state. Frankly speaking nothing much, don't expect huge discount. spend the other half day somewhere nearby. check out the outlet website is there anything you want to buy.

Thanks for the tips. Mitsui looks good and will give it a try next time. Problem is nothing much to do at Yokohama.
